Japanese Crests 
"The "crest" or "badge" is the expressive form of Japanese heraldry (like a family coat of arms). These family crests were used on everything including the family clothes. The patterns were woven or embroidered on each garment in five places: on each sleeve, on each breast, and at the back of the neck."
