FAQ

Lots of questions have been asked, all are answered below. Any other questions, just ask and they'll be added to this list...

Q: What time should we arrive to ensure good seating? Is this a bar with tables or more of a theater with seats, or will we be standing near the stage in a Pirate Mosh Pit?

A: Doors open at 7pm - Performances start sometime between 8:30 and 9, and will continue until around 1:00am There are very few tables and seating on the performance side of Davey’s Uptown, it’s mainly just an open room with a stage and a bar. As with the last time we performed there, people will probably be standing all the way up to the stage

Q: Are the guys wearing their pirate gear or 21st century clothes? How many attending are wearing costumes?

A: We (Musical Blades) will be in pirate garb, and I think the Jolly Rogers will be as well. If I had to guess I'd say roughly 75% of the people coming will also be dressed as pirates

Q: Will there be bodice diving for tips? If so I will be sure to set my bodice at half mast or lower for your diving pleasure. It is much harder to dive if I wear a t-shirt.

A: Though we won’t be "passing hat", of course gratuity is accepted, as well as appreciated, and bodice diving is fun! :)

Q: Do I have to be at least 21 years old to be at this show.

A: Yes. This particular show is being held at a bar. 21 and over only.

Q: I went to the February show. It was suppose to start at 7pm but performances started an hour and a half late! Will this be the case again?

A: Yes... and No. The show in February, as specified several times via musicalblades.com, facebook, and myspace, started between 8:30 and 9, with doors opening at 7pm.  As with the February show, the June 19th show will again have "doors open" at 7pm, with performances starting between 8:30 and 9:00 and lasting until 1:00am

Q: In February I left after the Musical Blades, but later heard they went on again after the Jolly Rogers went on. And then later both bands did songs together at the end!? Is this true? Was there a lot that I missed?

A: We heard this a few times, as some thought the Musical Blades, after we left the stage the first time, must've just been an opening act. If you left the bar after the first set, yes, you missed A LOT. Each group did two 45 minutes sets, followed by 20 minutes or so of a Blades/Rogers finale where both groups got up on stage together with songs and goofiness. This, like last time, will be a full-on Pirate night, stick around and get your money's worth. We don't think you'll be disappointed.

Q: Are we allowed to video and photograph? I would like to add more images to my collection used for my personal pleasure. :)

A: Though we can't speak for the JR's, we're all about it!! Indeed, bring the cameras! We're going to :)

Q: How do I get my ticket(s) that I’ve purchased?

A: If you have purchased tickets online, or directly from Davey’s Uptown, note these ARE NOT physical tickets, your name has been put on the guest list. Just mention your name at the door. If you have ordered tickets online, all those tickets will be listed under the purchaser’s name (unless you have specified otherwise during the time of purchase).

Q: How late can I purchase tickets?

A: Unless we have a sellout, as we did in February, tickets will be available online up until Midnight on Friday June 18th. These tickets are $8 each.
After that, tickets will only be available at Davey’s Uptown on Saturday June 19th, and are $10 each at the door. If it sells out, it will be posted on the web site and facebook sites, and no more tickets will be sold. Get your tickets early, as many who waited until the last minute, back in February, were not allowed entrance.

Q: Where is Davey’s Uptown?

A: Davey’s Uptown Ramblers Club is located at 3402 Main St. KCMO, 64111 (View Map) – (816)753-1909
