Friends of the Musical Blades
Not
JUST links, these are people/groups we know. People we've come in contact
with in our travels. We think you'll enjoy what they have to offer.
-
The Bawdy Boys - Detroit Irish Pirates with
an amazingly unique sound! "With their drums and rum and rum and drums
ha'roo, ha'roo..." We love performing with these guys!
PIRATEPALOOZA 2011
will be amazing! Slainte!!
-
Flannigan's Right Hook - We
had the privilege of performing with this band of Celtic Rockers when we
first headlined the VooDoo Lounge (Mar. 2011). We are still in awe of their
amazing talent and look forward to any opportunity to perform with them
again. A must see!
-
Beerside Scoundrels -
Presently in their first year as a group, this mid-west band of "hi-way men"
is progressing quite nicely. Offering up both Irish traditional and original
music and mixing it all with light-hearted comedy.
- Ogrot
- Poetry, Songs, Sketch Comedy, and more. You just never know where
members of this comedy troupe might pop up. Ogrot is definitely a group that
is not scared to "cross-the-line", sometimes, in fact, pole vaulting over
it!
-
Bilge Munky - There's a web site out there where "Peg-legs
and eye-patches abound, and plank-walking is a frequent activity. And while
scurvy is a constant threat, it’s more a colorful buzzword than a seriously
debilitating condition involving spongy gums". We're talking about
bilgemunky.com.
-
The Sword Swallowers
- WOW, what an incredible team this is! This is an old school, P. T. Barnum
style performance troupe. True friends of the Musical Blades, you will not
believe the stunts this duo can do! A MUST see!
-
Chuvani Bellydance -
We're pirates, we've seen our share of bellydancers. I've gotta say this is
the best belly dancing troupe we've ever seen.
- Tri
Canis Nox Handcrafted wooden mugs by Don Lewis. With out a doubt, the best freakin
drinking vessels in existence. These are the same mugs you see all the
characters at Renaissance festival drinking out of. I can't tell you how
many times we've had patrons come up to us and say "Hey, where'd you get
those mugs?" Check'em out! (Link is dead.
Let us know if it gets updated)
- Pyrate
Leatherworx
Pyrate Leatherworx specializes
in handcrafted leather goods for period costume and re-enactment
use, especially for the swashbuckling types. They made hats for Captain Patch, Chuey, Cutthroat Cookie and Panama. An all around
great group of guys!
-
3 Pints Gone An
incredibly talented national act, specializing in Celtic traditional-style
folk songs. See where they're playing next and tell them the Musical Blades
sent ya, and sends a hearty ARRGGHH!
- Limeybirds
We met these Canadian girls for the first time at Kansas City's Renaissance
Festival where they stole the hearts of everyone they came in contact with.
We've since became really good friends with them. An insanely funny group of
a cappella sirens!
- Bilge Pumps
A great bunch of guys out of Dallas/Ft.Worth. A Comedy group
specializing in sea songs, shanties, and Celtic music.
- Kischuf Photography
The home of photographer
Vicki Olubo, one of our biggest fans, and a great photographer!
- Elven Drums
Yep, a band of elves. Incredibly talented and a nice
bunch of pointy eared percussionist with a human guitarist.
- Pirate Shantyman and Bonnie Lass We first met this comedic duo at the Greater St Louis Renaissance Festival. Nice couple, check'em out!
