odern Day Pirate
If you've ever seen a Musical Blades show before, you understand that you're not just watching a music group. It's more like you're watching a loosely scripted variety show, full of improvisation, with an array of musical styles. And though many of our songs are based on traditional sound and true piratical stories, an even bigger portion is modernized, and tends to take the listener closer to visions of Hollywood pirates than it does to historical pirates. Never before have we released a CD that has taken the listener this close to what they might witness while watching us on stage!
Modern Day Pirate, the Fall 2010 release by Musical Blades, mixes every style that audiences have come to expect from the Blades and then some, and for the first time since "Surrender the Booty" contains full comedy skits, much of it improvised on the fly. Plus this is our first CD ever to host guest musicians, a guest singer, and a guest song writer. We are very proud and honored that the following talent gave us the time of day...
Rachel Gaither: Violin (Cryin Shame)
Kelsey Reid: Oboe (Final Trawl, Cryin Shame)
Mark Ross: Viola (Fitted for me Chains, Final Trawl)
Rob Sansonetti: Song Writer (Briney Foam)
Amanda Lewis: Vocalist (Final Trawl)
300 years in the making.... 20 Tracks of piratey goodness... You're going to LOVE this new CD! Take a closer look -->
