"PRESS GANG" simply the name of the Musical Blades Street Team, and we would love for you to join the crew, regardless of your location! (What is a "Street Team"?)

We've had quite a few join over the past few months, so we thought we'd offer up our first mission! This is a new group and we will soon be offering up incentives like t-shirts, stickers, exclusive downloads, etc. that are only available to the PRESS GANG! 

We appreciate your help in spreading the word about Musical Blades, as well as telling people about all of our upcoming shows. As we continue to push forward and get our ragtag band of pirates heard/seen in different areas throughout the country and abroad, it's the larger venue shows, that we've recently been privileged to play, like the upcoming PIRATEPALOOZA (Kansas City), that really make all the difference in the world.  

PIRATEPALOOZA will take place June 25th at the Beaumont Club. The venue holds 1500 people. The last time we performed there we had about 450, which was great... but we'd love to top that. We'd love to double, or even triple that! Enter the Street Team. ;)

PIRATEPALOOZA will feature the following acts... 

* Musical Blades (KC)
* Bawdy Boys (Detroit) website
* Beerside Scoundrels (KC newcomers, "best music act 2010" KCRF) website
* and comedy troupe "Ogrot" MC'n the event! website

Whether it's word of mouth, online, or taking it to the street, anything you can do is incredibly helpful and much appreciated. To help promote online you can use reverbnation widgets of your choice, or even graphics from our website

The best way is still the old fashion way, in true "street team" fashion... hitting the streets with flyers. And they don't have to be large flyers, postcard size works great! Here's a large graphic of the PIRATEPALOOZA poster, suitable for printing any size you want.

Great places to pass out flyers locally include -

* Concerts ("RockFest" for instance (May 14, Kansas City) will have 55,000 people in attendance!)
* Bars, Restaurants, Malls, etc
* Movie Theaters (The new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is coming May 20th. That'd be a great place to promote!)
* Convenient Stores, Grocery Stores (Especially smaller places. Most will let you leave stacks of flyers and/or tape one to their window.)
* Also colleges, and/or anywhere else that there's a large crowd (Car shows, trade shows, etc.).

These are places we tend to hit with flyers, but it's impossible for just the few guys in the group to do so much. Thank goodness for Street Teamers! :) If you're local, just ask us, we'd be happy to provide you with flyers.

Tickets available NOW via our website, ticketmaster outlets and ticketmaster.com.  Tickets are $15, but for the entire month of April, and only April, and only via our website, The Beaumont Club is allowing us to do an early-bird special for only 10 bucks each!
